Berni's Diary

We were sent an email from a lovely lady who works tirelessly saving dogs on death row asking if we could help some of the Rottweiler's who were in the Pound facing destruction.
Whilst scrolling through the attached photos my eyes kept going back to Berni, she was an old plump dog who looked like all she wanted from life was a fireside to lay by, realistically I knew the chances of an other Rescue offering her a place were slim, everyone chooses the young and fit and there were plenty of them on the list!
Well off I toddled to meet the arranged transporter on Saturday 6th December and meet old Berni, imagine my horror to discover that Berni wasn't an old fat dog as shown in her picture but a young clinically obese dog.
Berni aka "our coffee table" is estimated to be around 3 yrs old!
you could easily be forgiven for assuming she is an old dog as her mobility is somewhat compromised due to the extra weight she has to carry.
Our Vet's have been absolutely fantastic and are sponsoring Berni's weight loss, she has a massive 12kg to lose and it will be a long slow journey but inside that colossal fat body is a young pup waiting to emerge and we are going to have so much enjoyment watching the real Berni unfold.

Waist 103cm.
